Japanese Calligraphy Artist & AI Creator

In 2017, at the age of 40, I began studying calligraphy. I opened my calligraphy school in March 2023. My abstract ink work has since expanded from paper into fabric, costume, the body, and space.

My calligraphy and abstract ink art are made by hand. I use generative AI for moving images and music, exploring new forms of expression around my hand-painted work.

PHILOSOPHY

The courage to live alongside difficult emotions.

This idea lies at the heart of my practice. Through calligraphy meditation, I engage with my feelings and questions. Through exhibitions in which people wear my ink art, I give these thoughts a new form.

I seek encounters with people from other disciplines to create expressions I could not discover alone, and to develop exhibitions that bring different art forms together.
